Fight or flight mechanism has worked well for our survival over centuries. Go back to the ancient settlers. If they saw a lion or a tiger killing one of their tribe, having not seen the danger the first time they were exposed to it, the second time it entered their village they would be armed and either kill it or cause it to fear them and withdraw. Thereby saving their people and averting the threat. But what if the elders told the tribe to approach the tiger and reason with it? And it killed them. Would one trust the judgement of the elder of the village? Is the threat lessened because those in power say it is? Perhaps not all lions and tigers will kill you? And if one in 100 is benign should we be off our guard?

So, yes, actually if something or someone (in this case an ideology) has a track record of causing harm we should (if we have a survival instinct) FEAR it and FIGHT it.

 The Populist stance on the middle East is to keep out of it, but....

Many people believe that (rightly) the UK British are entitled to keep our own territory and not become a minority in a few generations (since 1948).

But the same people don't believe that the Palestinians are entitled to keep THEIR our own territory and not become a minority within what was the Palestinian Mandated Territory within in a few generations (since 1948).

To hold BOTH opinions is clearly contradictory and hypocritical. We cannot spell it out more clearly than that.

Whether one likes or dislikes either side in the conflict is immaterial.

We are looking for consistency and objectivity and hold one stance for one group of folk, but not for another is inconsistent.

There's an old saying "treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself".

We can hardly advocate for opposing colonists displacing the existing population in England and then about turn when it is applied to the Palestinians.

Footnote: The Left are as bad as they couldn't give a stuff about the indigenous English becoming a minority, yet are prepared to march for the Palestinians who have been displaced.

WE SAY - march for both or march for neither. That's consistency.

World War one was a war between two Imperial Royal Houses (related) in which there was no ideological/political argument, no "bad guys" and where millions of lives lost on either side due to the folly of imperial powers.

If the UK had not gone to war with the Kaiser's German Empire, then it is probable that the Versailles treaty would not have "stolen" land from Germany, no war reparations, no Rosa Luxemburg attempt to set up a Communist state, and therefore the "German Workers' Party" would not have been set up by Anton Drexler because there would be no grievance against the outcome of the Great War, because it would never have happened.

The Jews would not have been blamed for profiteering from that war, and would have faced no more anti-Semitism in Germany than existed in 1914.

The "stab in the back theory" would not have existed and Hitler would have been quite happy as a painter in the Austro-Hungarian empire, and he would not have joined the DAP (if it even existed), thus not turning it into the the Nazi NSDAP.

Thus no Weimar, no Holocaust, no World War 2, no Eastern Bloc beyond the USSR borders, no Berlin Wall, no missiles in Greenham Common. Also no World War 2 means no loss of UK lives in mainland Europe, no "manpower shortage" in the UK after 1945 (and no opportunity for pro-immigration lobbies/big firms to claim there was), meaning no "Windrush" and probably no collapse of the British Empire, meaning no Idi Amin and no Ugandan Asian crisis.

Less immigration and no loss of nerve means that the ruling class keeps its empire and rejects the EU. So, our present troubles can largely to traced back to 1914 and the decision to go to war with Germany and their Austro-Hungarian Allies...

And now the British Legion has a "Diversity Officer" this only adds to my belief that the wrong side won the Great War.

 Someone on another thread claimed that Russian soldiers were committing atrocities. We are not going to verify, deny or condone, but as with the Yugoslav civil wars, there will be artocities committed on both sides, but unlike then, there is a clear divide between the aims of the Ukranian elite (WEF/EU/Globalism) and the Russians (anti-NWO).

We support neutrality outside NATO but it is tempting to take sides when all you hear is pro-Ukraine propaganda from those who back expanding the EU Eastwards. And you just KNOW that the long term aim is to topple Putin, Medvedev and the rest and install a compliant ruler (Zelensky style) who would negotiate away Russian independence and take them into the EU so the multinationals could take over their "markets".

A lot of people BELIEVED that Brexit would bring forth a new age of self-sufficiency, but with the Tories in charge (with their support for importing rather than home produce) this wasn't going to be allowed to happen.
Without greater self-sufficiency (protectionism, economic nationalism - call it what we will) Brexit cannot work.

 A lot is said about "Populism" in the media.

The liberal elite hate it and use it as a slur, so we adopted the name with pride. It is a badge of honour...

Whether it is homeless veterans, child abuse, the power of the global elite or the betrayal of Brexit we will stand up for those (currently) with no voice.

We are radical. Radical enough to oppose big business, multinationals, the CBI, the TUC, NATO and the UN.

We'll fight for ecology, the green belt - against the developers. We'll defend jobs and services, and oppose privatisation.

We are nationalist but not imperialist

We are neutralist, not pacifist

For democracy, but not liberalism

For localism, not globalism

Conservative, but not for extreme "capitalism"

For the worker, but not Marxist

For ecology, but opposed to the anti-British "Green" Party

Against multiculturalism, but not based upon hatred.

But we aren't like the Brexit Party/Reform UK because if one looks at the people who became its MEPs they are very much of the elite, libertarians and Thatcherites, despite the party portraying itself as beyond left-right description, and we predict that it will probably merge with the Tories should the Tories ever more back to their previous pre-Cameron image and policies.

 No tomatoes in the shops. And yet.... we have the capacity to grow tomatoes in the UK using the most up to date technology to create Mediterranean conditions in greenhouses....

So, is this a "Brexit" problem, or is it one of the UK failing to even TRY to go for greater self-sufficiency since Brexit? The latter, in my opinion, and it is deliberate - to make people feel that this country is incapable of standing on its own.

You'd think that more supposed opponents of mass immigration would understand geo-politics and that it is NATO interventionism that created the massive influx of "refugees" to our shores....

And by backing NATO they are backing intervention to try to make the rest of the world resemble the USA where there is every conceivable minority group in the country, where said minorities have strong anti-white lobbies and where Woke/PC is running rampant.

The USA IS the template for the multicultural society yet there is so much hypocrisy and lack of understanding. It is as if people have gone around with their eyes closed tightly. And now Ukrainian refugees coming here. I suppose a number of fake opponents of multiculture back that too? Perhaps some took the Government's £350 bribe and took some in?

It isn't a hard concept to grasp. NATO is globalist, the EU is globalist. The UN certainly is. And they all want multiculturalism for the European nations so white people become a minority. Those who back Zelensky ARE for multiculturalism...

 Anti-car legislation hits those in areas with poor public transport. If private cars end up out of most people's reach we will end up with a lot of people migrating to the towns with better public transport rather than being isolated. That, in turn, will put pressure on those services (and others such as schools, the NHS etc) as population density increases.

 What kind of society allows schools where the disruptive bully runs the classroom, and the ultimate punishment for bad behaviour is removal to a school with more facilities & attention than is available to the well-behaved left behind?

What kind of society allows our old people in care to have to sell their homes they worked for all their lives, threatens to cut the pensions of the future elderly, yet rewards the work shy, the wastrel, and the criminal with incentives to live off their neighbours, whilst the real poor go without?

What kind of society allows yobs to control our streets, to rape our daughters and attack our sons.

There’s a civil war going on in our land, but there are no armies - just innocent people being maimed and killed daily by thugs and molested by perverts who no longer fear a police force that is being neutered by political correctness. Think that’s too strong?

Read the papers, watch the news and remember.

Remember the children who died at the hands of sick evil men and women over the years. More each year...

Remember every old soldier whose last moments were not at the hands of an enemy during the war, but at those of the generation he fought to save from tyranny and mass murder.

That’s the kind of society we live in. A “dysfunctional society” where nothing works.

Given the will, the people could change the country within a short time. But it means tough action. It means rolling back the “human rights” legislation that allows terrorists and other vicious criminals to roam free.It means scrapping useless open prisons, life meaning life for child killers and serial killers.

If we want a safe society where little children can play safely and old people can go out at night we need to change the way we think. That means a backlash against liberal attitudes. It means putting the victim first, and outlawing the pressure groups that push for a soft deal for law breakers.

The only party that can be trusted to defend the children, the vulnerable, is the Populist Party.

 The party recently lost an old friend, Dick Vardy, who while not a member at the time of death (having given up political activity due to ill health) was a valued member of the party during his time with us. 

That sad event came not long after we lost our Deputy Chairman Ellen ("Min") Davies. Her death left a void in the party and we remember her stories and her enthusiasm as well as her expertise on workers' rights and Common Law.

Both are sorely missed.

 All of the Tories' woes are based upon their attempts to modernise to chase the "progressive" vote.

Be it the MPs of Wakefield or Bridgend and their sexual preferences or Boris and Carrie's great green reset or Sunak's millions, there is a common theme.

The Tories are not socially conservative and they embrace multiculturalism. Half the MPs in their parliamentary party probably wouldn't be there if they rejected "modernity" and stood for old fashioned British social conservativism. And half the scandals may also have been avoided (though the party has always been fairly "bent" it seems more so with the added aspect of arguments about "minority" issues)...

 The French Pesidential Election earliers this year showed that 42% of those who voted (probably more, but these are the "official" figures) backed a candidate who largely rejects the mainstream.

That's a lot of people. If we consider how the Remainers kept banging away after the Referendum we should NOT give up. They had 48% of the votes cast. Have they simply surrendered? No. They keep on insisting we rejoin the EU.

This seems to be a feature of "the Right". Defeatism, the idea that each win for the opponents of traditional ideas can never be overturned. The idea that in order to beat them, you have to become them (the Tory way, with their LGBTQ committees and pandering to the BAME vote).

Le Pen got as far as she has because she understands that "capitalism" isn't "right wing". It can be "left-wing" and virtue-signalling. So, she supports an economic model of the centre-left, of localism and opposing big business.

But in the UK, UKIP and Reform UK cling to the "Anglo-Saxon model of economics" (free trade, free markets, laissez-faire) and voters quite rightly think "we like them on identity issues but don't trust them to not sell off the NHS or offer tax breaks to the rich at the expense of the poor".

Must this only happen in France and other Catholic nations (bearing in mind that they are more in tune with concepts like Distributism and Protectionism) or can we achieve it here?

If we can capture the white working class Labour vote (those who would NEVER vote Tory under any circumstances, rather than the fabled Red Wall voters that did) then we have a chance to create a new opposition. By splitting Labour in half. Because one of the old parties has to collapse before a new one can emerge. And if it is to be a party "of the Left" lets make sure it has "socially conservative and nationalist" values to add to the left-of-centre economics.

Much research has been done over the past few years on this. The left-right axis is not clear cut. One can be a socially conservative anti-capitalist or a socially liberal opponent of socialism as much as the old idea that people should be consistently left wing or right wing on every subject.

So, we can win, but only by ditching free marketism and forcing the "Left" to decide what they oppose more - Tory "global capitalism" or Populist "left economics nationalism"...

 "Right to buy"?

"Boris Johnson wants to give millions of people the right to buy the homes they rent from housing associations in a major shake-up inspired by Margaret Thatcher."

"The Prime Minister ordered officials to develop the plans in the last fortnight after becoming convinced the idea would help “generation rent”, The Telegraph can reveal."

"The proposal is intended to give the 2.5 million households in England who rent properties from housing associations the power to purchase their homes at a discounted price."

-- Thus reducing the number of homes available to rent and pushing up rents for those who continue to rent (because inadequate supply means extra demand).

 Spoiled ballot papers v abstention.

A spoiled ballot paper: It will just be placed in a tray with the other spoiled ballots. No one will ever see what you wrote, other than the counters (briefly) and perhaps those who you rejected. When I've been at counts, the Tories, Labour and Lib Dems look at comments with statements like "none of them" and simply laugh arrogantly, rather than taking any notice of the sentiment.

Abstention: It shows a lack of support for the choices on your ballot paper, but also shows that you reject the system. Each spoiled ballot is a vote cast, but an abstention is a vote not cast. That is more powerful than spoiling.

Conclusion: Even if 90% of us did either though the 10% who didn't would still elect one of those on that ballot paper, sadly.

The law needs changing so that council seats that fail to attract 50% of the voter turnout are left vacant and new candidates and parties re-contest them until someone wins with a majority of the voters taking part. That's the only way that the old guard will sit up and take notice. The cost of elections and the chance that failing to get a 50% turnout the first time could open it up for a new party in a second ballot.

The same with spoiled papers. If the number of spoiled papers were higher than votes cast for candidates then the election should be null and void. Perhaps a "None of the Above" option.

The fact that there are no penalties for failing to attract people to vote is why the system carries on and why neither abstention or ballot spoiling are any kind of protest - because there are no consequences for the candidates standing in said election....

And compulsory voting would simply force people to vote for the lesser of the evils even more (to paper over the cracks).
